Coca-Cola In The Eyes of #NYFW

Coca-Cola is more than just a drink on social media platforms. Every day, Coca-Cola surprises us with more creative campaigns that make us tip the hat to this brand, as well as the great marketing strategies they follow in order to position their brand as an icon that can be part of an everyday lifestyle. Coca-Cola goes all out by producing very creative campaigns and participating in big events and daily activities. As we all know, February’s global event is New York Fashion Week, it is a semi-annual series of events (generally lasting 7–9 days). It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the “Big 4” along with those in Paris, London, and Milan. 1 Many people wrote about Coca-Cola’s campaign in collaboration with New York’s Fashion Week. Coca-Cola participated in New York Fashion Week with their “Fashion through the decades” campaign. Coca-Cola posted a series of 15 second videos on their social media platforms. The bottles were dressed in different fashion outfits, covering the evolution of fashion through the previous decades. The videos had the description “Coca-Cola when it comes to trends, good taste never goes out of style” followed by the hashtag #NYFW. Their videos received high interactions and were very entertaining to watch despite the fact that they were only 15 seconds long. Coca-Cola surely found a way to grab people’s attention by participating in one of the world’s biggest events. The brand positioned itself as an icon with the support of the hashtag that was trending; therefore, probably reached their marketing strategy goal. Coca-Cola’s smart and creative idea of using a coke bottle as a manikin drove their social media platforms to gain more engagement and followers/fans from all over the globe!
